Notes from the Quiz Director
Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea
and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
I was recently reminded of why I am involved in Bible Quizzing and other
activities with youth. I discovered some statistics from Josh McDowell
regarding Christian Youth.. Some of these are:
- The church will lose 93% of their high school graduates within 18 months of leaving high school.
- Christian Kids -74% cheat on school tests
- Only 9% of church youth believe in Absolute Truth
- 72% say it’s true if it works for you.
- Teens who do not believe in Absolute Truth are 300% more likely to use illegal drugs and 600% more likely to commit suicide
That is just a few of the statistics and point out the fact why teens need to be grounded in the Word of God. Teen quizzing is an excellent way for teens to learn more of the Word of God and apply to their lives.
We all need to start promoting quizzing to prospective quizzers and to people we know in other churches. If you have not had a quizzing program I will be glad to help you in any way to get a program started.
